Ep. 14 – Emma Johnson

·

Emma Johnson aka Em was born and raised in New York. From the minute she was born she had a story to tell. Writing was and always has been her greatest outlet. She has written blogs, poems, and short stories. Emma’s poetry is about the black experience, relationships, being a single mother, love, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, and how she transmuted it and became the woman she is today. While in NY Emma performed spoken word at Nuyorican café, at personal engagements and for events. In 2021 she moved to Denver and has made a home there solidifying her spot amongst The Poets. She has curated and hosts an open mic on Tuesdays called Words With Emocean at Green Spaces in the RiNo District. Her goals are to publish a book of poetry, as well as start a nonprofit for children to take their feelings and emotions and turn them into power and poetry.
