Nobody wants to read a white guy wax poetic about audio recording or podcasting, so I won’t.

I’m simply going to lay out The Plan.

I have no intention of using The Poets to financially enrich myself. I’ve said to multiple people in private conversations that it would be plagiarism to do so, and I firmly believe that is true. This show does not feature my work—I may engineer and produce it, but I’m also not even fully sure what those words mean. Putting this show out provides me an opportunity to learn more about audio recording while broadcasting individuals who I feel to be truly talented artists.

If I stand to benefit materially from this process it will be through future endeavors in audio production using my own artistic works (which are numerous and bountiful) or else working with individual artists on projects specifically designed to be sold (e.g. spoken word albums, live shows).

The Plan is to continue to produce The Poets as an attempt at helping to put a spotlight on the poem in Denver. I plan to do that as long as I am able and willing. If a time ever comes when I am unable or unwilling, I hope to pass the reins on to a new voice who shares this show’s values and vision.
