95. The Parlance Poets

·

I’m joined by JohnnyOsi, Stone, Manon Nadeau, and Ezra Bram to discuss competing at the 2024 Utah Arts Festival slam, in which they placed as finalists. We chat about the competition, challenges and successes, highs and lows, their process both as a group and individuals preparing to compete, and much more. We also talk about slam in general, the Poetry Parlance and what it gave birth to (this team), and their vision for the future of slam poetry in Denver, which they hope even includes other poets earning their spots on the team. Lots more to come—keep coming to events in Denver, especially the Sunday Slam at the Mercury Cafe and the Poetry Parlance on Saturdays (Johnny’s got the details on meeting places each week) to meet the Parlance Poets and find out how you can be a part of their vision.
